Coach John

As a USCF Candidate Master and an experienced academic chess coach, John has been teaching chess classes and organizing tournaments in and around the Houston and Katy areas since 2008.

Mr. Hendrick graduated cum laude in 2005 with a B.S. in Psychology and a B.A. in Anthropology. His passion for chess began when he was in middle school, and by his sophomore year, he became the 1996 Texas State Scholastic Champion. This experience solidified his belief that chess is a lifelong endeavor, and he’s been dedicated to sharing it ever since.

Always seeking innovative teaching methods, Coach Hendricks tailors training and curriculum to help students — both children and adults — improve rapidly and reach their full potential.
